Special Intensive Training Program for Technicians (SITP)

As a niche Solutions Provider, we pioneered the SITP which assisted SPDC to bridge the perceived inadequacies in the Nigerian educational system to support SHELL’s operations in Nigeria by providing a rapidly abridged solution to the issue.

 

The Provision of a Project Design Study, Preparation for the Training including the selection of trainees, Instructors, location.

 

Preparation of teaching aids and didactic aids.

 

Implementation of the Training Program, Evaluation of trainees, Procurement of all Training Materials for both Graduates (SITP 1) and for technicians (SITP 2).

 

General Organisation and Management of the SITP Project.

NNPC Foundation Skill Training Programme for Graduate Engineers & Technicians

We pioneered the NNPC foundation skills training as a necessary intervention to align the performance of the new graduates with the business objectives and succession plans of the NNPC as well as the development of the oil industry in Nigeria

 

Approximately 700 newly recruited graduate engineers and technicians were covered

 

Value chain of the oil business covered from exploration and production to how the crude products are transformed into useful refined products, how they are transported, traded and retailed and how these transactions are accurately performed

 

We utilized instructors and consultants (Nigerians & Expatriates) who have years of hands-on project and operations experience in on-shore and offshore facilities, design and operations.

Aveon Offshore: NCD Foundation Skills Training Programme

We are one of the few training companies qualified to provide the requisite NCD mandatory training programme on all Oil & Gas projects.

 

We are a fully registered member of Oil & Gas trainers Association of Nigeria and therefore qualified to implement the requisite NCD mandatory training on all Oil & Gas projects

 

About 14 trainees were participants at our Foundation Skills training Program which is a fully residential 4 week training.

 

Training curriculum covers Project management, Managing Me, Health Safety & Environment, Teamworking skills, Entrepreneuship etc.

Electrical Safety Training

Nexus Alliance was contracted by Chevron Nigeria to train thirty of its operations and maintenance employees in electrical safety.

 

The training included elements from the Chevron Corporate Electrical standards.

 

HIGHLIGHTS:
Nexus, as a fully registered member of Oil & Gas Trainers Association of Nigeria (OGTAN), was qualified and invited by Chevron to implement this requisite Nigerian Content Development (NCD) mandatory training.

 

About 30 trainees participated in the program whichcentred around NFPA 70E/Arc Flash Electrical Safety.

Brain Management Workshop for NNPC-NAPIMS

The NNPC invited Nexus Alliance to develop and deliver a Brain Management Workshop. The training was based on the emerging further understanding of the brain and how it works best.

 

The workshop taught practical skills and methods of leveraging brain utilization in every aspect of work and life.

Resource management and Specialist Support Liaison

The BTS was a first of it’s kind world class simulator that is an exact copy of the control room of the Bonga FPSO and Nexus Alliance was contracted to support and maintain the BTS in order to provide retraining for existing operators, training of new operators, scenario testing and process optimization testing. Nexus has full responsibility for the support, operation and maintenance of the BTS at Shell’s training location in Warri, Nigeria.

 

The BTS represents an integrated assembly of a wide range of technologies.

 

Nexus works to achieve a process by which parts, materials, and equipment shortages can be predicted -and equipment downtime mitigated while maximising the life of the existing BTS design.

 

Particular attention is also paid to the terms and conditions attached to the deployment of contributing technologies.

 

This sometimes finds the Nexus Support Team driving processes that span several organizational boundaries.

SAP R/3 IPES implementation and support for ExxonMobil

Nexus has been at the forefront of pioneering projects that contribute to the increase in the capacity of Nigerians to support ever more complex technologies in the Energy Sector.

 

Provision of training in the various SAP modules (FI/CO, MM, and PM) to identified users.

 

Development and/or review of training materials and exercises

Nexus successfully pioneered the documentation of operations, maintenance and training manuals across all of Chevron’s facilities.

 

Provision of Operation, Maintenance, Training (OMT) Manuals for Chevron’s Excravos gas Project III (EGP3) that fully describe the facilities at the gas plant and integration of new and changed systems installed on the FSO into the FSO manuals.

Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) for Escravos Produced Water Disposal (EPWD) project.

Nexus in partnership with Advanced Reliability Technologies (ART) carried out RCM studies for the EPWD project utilising ART’s RCM ReliaBuilder software to document the results and analyse the project.

 

The process led to a reliability-based proactive set of tasks focused on maintaining the desired functionality of systems and equipment. The process also identifies equipment for which it is most cost-beneficial to allow to ‘run-to-failure’, due to low economics, safety or environmental impacts.

Supply of Technical Assistance Services for the commissioning and startup of Onshore Asset Gas Management project for CHEVRON

Nexus Alliance provides Technical Manpower to support capacity planning in flexible operating conditions. This is enabled by our ability to train, track and retain significant numbers of potential candidates who have been certified through/by our training activities.

 

Nexus provided over 25 commissioning personnel for the OAGM project which covers 2 years

 

The expats provided were across Electrical, Rotational, Process, Instrument and Mechanical Engineering disciplines.

 

Provision of Nationals (Technicians) on the same project.

Supply of Construction Technical Services (CTS) Crew

Nexus Alliance has been awarded a 2 +1 Year NAPIMS/NCDMB tendered and NNPC Board approved contract by Chevron Nigeria Limited to provide Expatriate and National manpower to support its operations in Warri and Port Harcourt.

 

Nexus has been assigned to provide 19 expatriate and 38 Nationals to Chevron among three other contractors who also won the award to provide this service.

 

The manpower to be supplied includes: construction representatives, construction engineers, safety officers, project planners/project controls, materials, training coordinators, QA/QC personnel, designers/ drafting personnel, inspectors of different disciplines including civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, welding, vessel, tanks, piping, painting and material, and national project support administrators.
